The Cat Says Meow

My son Owen is at the age now where he loves playing with toys that light up or make sounds. We held off on buying these types of gadgets for him (mostly for our own sanity) but recently he has received a few of them that he just can’t get enough of. Owen has also been pulling himself up to a standing position any time he gets the opportunity, and we often find him after one of his naps standing in his crib and pounding his little hands on the wall.

In working on Parliament’s indoor archery range project for Design Week Portland (see Bullseye), I came across the Bare Conductive Touch Board. Combined with their Electric Paint, I knew it’d be perfect kit for creating an interactive installation within Owen’s room—something to light up, make sounds, encourage exploration, and capture his imagination.
